Blue Button Bride was started about 18 months ago, after a couple of years of soul searching. I qualified as a nurse 15 years ago, and am still working as a nurse, I wanted something more, something that was for me. I came up with many options, but most of them were unrealistic, and unachieveable, as they required retraining, and being a single parent with two children, that wasnt really an option. So I had to take a look at what skills I had. Prior to nursing I had worked in a florist, so knew the basics of flower arranging, but knew that working with fresh flowers for weddings, would limit my geographical area, and would also mean a huge amount of work in a very short time just before the wedding, which again could cause problems with childcare etc. So I had a look around on the internet, and came across the amazing Princess Lasertron bouquets. Stunning! But sadly my embroidery skills arent that good, so I had to develope the idea a little, and started to work with buttons. I struggled initially with forming the posy shape, but got there eventually.

you have a very beautiful stylish selection of bouquets, something to suit every style and every bride to be...Ladyamy

The most popular style of bouquet is the vintage/decorate button bouquet, costing £70 for 40 stems. The bouquet is created using a mixture of vintage and new buttons, with 5 main/statement buttons in the centre of the posy, and on the handle. Finding the statement button for each bride can be really difficult sometimes and I start dreaming about buttons, but to me that one statement button is almost as important as the dress! It has to be perfect. If the bride orders buttonholes then the statement buttons will also be included in them, so the theme carries through. Each bridal bouquet contains a blue button, so your something, old new and blue are covered with my bouquets, all you need to find is something borrowed, and a silver sixpence for your shoe.

Currently the most popular colours appear to be black white and red, although I love the colours in the aqua marine and yellow button bouquet. It has statement flower buttons that are handmade czech glass, they are truely beautiful buttons.

The lilac and silver bouquet contains buttons and beads from the brides mothers button box. The brides mother sadly died a few years ago, and the bride wanted her buttons included in her bouquet. I loved doing this bouquet, because it meant so much to her. I had a bit of a challenge with the lace surrounding the bouquet, as its vintage crochet lace, so quite heavy and didnt want to stay upright, but with a bit of fiddling, I eventually got it staying up around the bouquet. I also made a corsage for the brides sister, with a few of her mums buttons, so she could have a sentimental keepsake too.

...adding that personal touch to your wedding day, and the most treasures wedding favour...Ladyamy
