bringing cultures together..

Good Evening! How are you all? I hope you have all had an awesome bank holiday weekend? and a Huge Huge congratulations to those couples who tied the knot. Esp my gorgeous couple from Saturday, Lydia and Andy. I will be featuring some images as soon as their photographer releases images. I wish you the very best of luck in your futures together..lots of love and happy thoughts going out to you all.

Bringing Cultures Together.. Inspired by Marie Claire Magazine's Fashion section this summer, World Party! Whilst doing a little research over the summer and reading some magazines, I came across a lovely vibrant and colourful piece on a gorogeus selection of clothes, patterns and natural materials.. Which has deeply inspired this weeks blog post.

So when I got home I did loads of research into Wedding Inspiration, using natural materials and bringing cultures from all around the world together.
I love to travel and go abroad on holiday, visiting new places and dipping my toe into other cultures. Trying new foods and ways of life. It facinates me how we are all so different. We eat differently, dress differently, speak differently and have very different interests, yet we have all adapted to our surroundings.
Wayne and I are deep in planning, for a fabulous 3 week family venture to Australia next year. Which is incredibly awesome and very exciting..

How uber gorgeous and sexy is this picture. The golden tones and rustic charm glows beauty.. a simply stunning safari inspired look http://www.polyvore.com/safari-inspired_wedding_dresses_brides/thing?id=23482440
How awesome are these accessories and wedding details? Very simple to create and extremely effective. I recommend Knots and Kisses for all wedding stationery. Nikki is fabulous, she has just designed and made our engagement invites, which we will share once we have sent them out.. They are FABULOUS!!

How gorgeous is this Jenny Packham dress? http://www.jennypackham.com/ I am a huge fan of hers anyway and adore this style. The details and embellishment around the neckline is so pretty and really creates that traditional Kenyan jewellery look. Its the perfect choice for a summers wedding dress, light weight, floaty through the bottem and slightly more fitten in the weighst area, allowing a bride to really show off her curves and feel girly, just lovely!

I hope you have liked this weeks colourful creative post. Its such a fab idea to include in your wedding a lixture of cultures, maybe from all the wonderful places you may have visited and holidayes / traveled together before the big day. You may have somewhere special  as a couple, like where you got engaged or your first trip away together.
Bring some culture and colour to your big day and look further afield for inspiration..

Catch you soon

Vintage Floral

Good morning gorgeous peeps, how are you all? What a lovely couple of weeks I have had. Such a lucky lady. Apologies for not being on the Knots and Kisses blog last Wednesday but I have been doing a couple of fab weddings and we went on our family holiday, where we got engaged, yay!! Take a peek at Nikkis latest Rose Cottage Range. Its simply adorable.. very quaint and pretty http://knotsandkisses.blogspot.com/

I have so much to ramble about having had over a week off from writing, heehee...  apart from my very brief engagement update. Did you all see my amazing saphire and diamond ring? Wayne did good ;)
Anyway, we have only a couple of weeks of 'summer sun' left so I thought I would do a very flowery and floral post filled with wedding inspiration.
Coming Soon to the Ladyamy Events page is an awesome event which I have been designing and organising for a while now, so you must stay tuned as all will be revealed soon ;) This event has a beautiful floral vintage lace theme. Its just so pretty and chic.
I adore the mix and muddle of flowers, textures and colours. Complimenting each other like a gentle rainbow. Shabby chic, soft summery bridal hair styles using floral accessories...

I love the individuality of these dresses, they are so pretty and girly without being 'fairy tale like' or too twinkly..
This style is perfect for that DIY or budget bride, a slight boho chic bride. Using old vintage style fabrics to make the wedding attire, wild flower bouquets and simple but very beautiful floral details through out the design.
Crockery, Table clothes, Stationery, Hair accessories, Fabrics and Cake.

I hope you have enjoyed this flowery post

Ladyamy gets engaged ;)

So, good evening peeps.. how are you all? I have been a little quiet on the blog front recently, what with wedding season being in full swing, holiday'ing, celebrating Noahs 2nd birthday and recently getting engaged.. Woop Woop!!

My beautiful twinkly engagement ring, is the perfect ring for Ladyamy. It's simply amazing and I LOVE it.. Thankyou Wayne =) It's an elegant, vintage design, based on Lady Diana's ring. Not too bling, just a hint of twinkle with a stunning large sapphire surrounded by small diamonds.
Diamonds are the birthstone for April (this is one of the months we hope to get hitched in) and sapphire is the birthstone for September (my baby sisters birthstone). Combining these two precious and utterly beautiful gemstones in this chic design, creates a very sophisticated ring, which represents, trust,  love and affection.

I am uber excited about making plans for our engagement party, fizz and food and not to mention then designing our special day. As a wedding planner there are so many awesome, unique ideas.. Which I will share with you all every step of the way.

The proposal!
So, as many of you may know by reading my tweets and facebook, we have just been on a short family break to Marazion, Cornwall. We adore the area. My lovely Granny lives there, she is an artist and paints St Micheals Mount. Its beautiful. Gorgeous weather, lovely beaches, the sun shines and the sea is as clear as the Carribbean.

Tuesday evening we, Wayne and I, went for a little walk, along the beach as the sun was setting. We walked across the causeway to the mount, listening to the waves crashing, under the stars, talking about 'life' and taking time out from 'parent hood'. When the sneaky bugger pulled out a beautiful twinkly ring ;)

Its completely not traditional and not chessy at all, as Wayne and I are not at all that way.. There was no 'Will you marry me' no getting on to one knee and no placing the ring gently on my finger. It was however extremely perfect, personal to us and very magical.

I simply can not wait to become Mrs Wayne and for us to get hitched. Its going to be a fab day and an even fab'er year or so planning it..

Stay tuned and keep up to date with Ladyamy's wedding plans and ideas and recent events..

Best Wishes
Lauren x

Festival Style
Hello everyone, how are you all on this glorious morning?
I hope you have all been enjoying my posts so far, some feedback / comments would be awesome. Did you catch my delicious Peaches and Cream post a few weeks back? It was very popular, find it on the Knots and Kisses blog? pop over and take a look. Nikki has also just launched her new fabulous new range, so don't miss it, its GORGEOUS - lovely rustic floral stationery..
So this week I have featured a colourful, fun and shabby chicVillage Fete inspired mood board on my blog Ladyamys Diary http://ladyamyweddings.blogspot.com/ please take a look at all my previous posts here on the diary, Its filled with my latest whereabouts and Wedding Rambles
I hope I have written features which have helped encourage those who have dreams but not the confidence to fulfil them, those of you gorgeous bride and grooms to be with lots of fab, vintagey, pretty and unique ideas and inspiration and also given you some great links to all those Ladyamy Loves http://www.ladyamyweddingdesign.co.uk/links.htm

The relaxed hippy atmosphere, chilled out, drinking ginger beer lounging around on hay bales and huge tatty pic nic blankets and listening to live music, what could make a weekend / a week in some cases more perfect and awesome, these are all typical for a festival feeling...
So with my love for festivals, live music and home made beer I decided to dedicate this weeks post to a festival styled and inspired wedding day.
Think, teepees, hay bales, home made bunting from old rags and cloth, pic nic blankets and random cushions for comfort. Loads of beautiul random wild flowers embellishing the venue.. Cute little home made signs with loving notes and messages to your guests. This style wedding would be perfect for the DIY style bride and groom / budget wedding and more organic hippy couple.. Like Me and my gorgeous fella (obviously we love a little vintage too lol)

So here is my mood board.. a collection of my faves
